More Worcestershire businesses set to benefit from second wave of growth support

A further 11 Worcestershire businesses are benefiting from the growth support Elevate Programme.

The Elevate Programme helps the companies involved to gain high quality advice through one to one tailored sessions and group workshops.

It is also a great tool for management teams and staff to help their business improve and grow.

The programme is part funded through the European Regional Development Fund and takes the total number of firms across the county, to receive help from Elevate up to 18.

Councillor Ken Pollock, Worcestershire County Council’s Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy and Infrastructure said: “The Elevate Programme is a great opportunity for the 18 businesses who will now benefit from a range of support to help them grow.”

“This support, which will help them to look at their business in a different way to make improvements, has come at significant and challenging time for them, as, indeed, it does for most businesses across the county.”

The programme has been established for small and medium sized businesses in Worcestershire which are already operating successfully, have high ambitions and can prove they are committed to making the improvements.

Nick Baxter of Baxter Williams, a company chosen in January to benefit, said: “We find ourselves in a challenging situation right now and as such the Elevate Programme couldn’t have come at a better time.

“We are having to think differently to get through this and the network of likeminded business owners and the unique insight and experiences of those running the programme, is a much needed sense of support for us all”.

On completing the programme, SMEs will be able to apply for grant funding to support their growth further.

For the launch of the programme at the start of the year, Worcestershire County Council joined forces with Worcestershire Business Central and Mark Wright, winner of the BBC The Apprentice 2014.

Mark shared the lessons he had learnt in building his business and highlighted vital tools on which to focus for successful growth.
