A message to businesses during these worrying times

Lockdown 2.0 began today. The announcement of a second national lockdown will be no doubt met with frustration from many businesses that put all the necessary measures in place to operate safely and securely in the current climate.

“The news follows results of the Chamber’s recent economic indicator which identified worrying levels of business confidence as sales fail to recover to pre-Covid levels.

“The extension of the furlough scheme will certainly bring immediate relief to many organisations, and follows calls from Chambers across the country to provide support in line with restrictions. But as firms continue to face financial hardship, it is essential government communicates the next steps for businesses readily so that employers and the self-employed can easily access schemes available to get them through the winter months.

“Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce will continue to outline what the restrictions mean for businesses and highlight the support available for local companies affected by the new measures.

“The business community is encouraged to use our Coronavirus Hub, and follow our news page to view the latest government announcements, including details of financial support through available funding and grants, access to online training courses and webinars for employees, and sign up to receive weekly resources for businesses.

“Make sure to tell us your business concerns this quarter, so that we can continue to lobby government on key business issues. By taking part in this survey, your business will be entered into a prize draw with a chance to win a Christmas Hamper worth £110 from The Hereford Deli.

“Whilst this may be a worrying time for the business community, as always, the Chamber of Commerce is here to help you when navigating the next step in what has been an unprecedented year for all. Please don’t hesitate to contact us on 01905 673600 or email enquiries@hwchamber.co.uk to speak to a member of the team now.”

“We are all in this together. Stay safe and stay strong”
