The team at F.B & Sons, Lawns and Landscapes are getting prepared to take part in this year’s Christmas fundraising campaign for Birmingham Hospice. Last year, through the efforts of volunteers and generous members of the public, the Hospice raised over £127,000 through the collection of 5,600 real Christmas trees. All of the money raised goes to support the work of St Mary’s Hospice and John Taylor Hospice (collectively the Birmingham Hospice), helping families across the region with their need for end-of-life care.
F.B & Sons have taken part in the campaign for three years now. Creative Director Marc Harbourne-Bessant has first-hand experience of the care and support provided by the Birmingham Hospice:
‘During Christmas 2016, my father received devastating news – he was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour. It was an incredibly difficult time for our family, filled with uncertainty and heartache. However, thanks to the compassionate care and support provided by the staff at our local hospice, those last 12 months became more bearable for my father. The care he received exceeded all of our expectations. The hospice staff went above and beyond to ensure his comfort and dignity throughout his illness. Their unwavering support not only eased his physical pain but also provided emotional solace for our entire family during such a challenging time. Now, we want to help other families experience the same level of care and support that we did. This is why fundraising efforts like this are so vitally important’.
