Keep Governance and Safeguarding is proud to celebrate its 10th anniversary this month, marking a decade of partnering with leaders who are committed to protecting their people from abuse, exploitation and harassment.
Founded in 2015 to work with schools in Herefordshire to train staff, audit safeguarding arrangements and develop improvement plans, we’ve grown from a part time, local venture into a trusted partner for organisations across sectors and across the UK. We’ve worked with the Premier League, and its Clubs, for the past five seasons and our other customers include local and national higher education institutions; charities; schools; literary festivals and businesses.
In reviewing our consultancy work with large organisations, we realised that no-one was providing similar services to smaller organisations, who often work with people in their communities, potentially with greater safeguarding risks. We made it our mission to create an innovative solution that provides support for those local community heroes at an affordable price. Through Keep Equip, we provide safeguarding support and governance to performing arts schools, alternative education providers and small charities, both locally and regionally, something that was not available to them previously.
“Ten years ago, we set out to support schools in keeping their pupils safe. Since then, we have innovated, created and developed valuable services to help diverse organisations protect the people they work with and who work for them.” said Andy Churcher, Director. “Today, we’re proud to be celebrating the partnerships we’ve built, the organisations we’ve supported, and the standards we’ve helped raise.”
