Join in Yellow Week and raise funds for Primrose Hospice

Primrose Hospice is holding its first ever Yellow Week from Monday, June 7 to celebrate the local hospice and raise much needed funds.

People can get involved in any way they like with yellow themed events from a yellow-themed tea party with friends to a wear yellow day in schools and workplaces in return for a donation. Perhaps your boss would even be willing to take a custard bath to raise money for the charity!

Sally Insley, Fundraising Manager at Primrose Hospice, said:

“We think it is time we all had a celebration and a bit of fun which is why we have organised Yellow Week. We know how creative people can be with their fundraising for Primrose so you can let your imaginations run wild – as long as it has something to do with the colour yellow. The community has been incredibly supportive of Primrose so we hope they will get behind Yellow Week. It will be a great way to have fun with friends, colleagues and classmates as well as raise money to make sure the hospice can continue to provide care and support for free to those who need it.”

The last year has been particularly tough for everyone and the hospice hopes to put a smile back on people’s faces as we return to a little more normality. Throughout the pandemic, Primrose Hospice has continued to provide care and support to people with life-limiting conditions, their families and bereaved adults and children. They have seen a 14 per cent rise in the number of people requiring their Bereavement Support over the last year.

At the start of lockdown the Clinical Team were some of the only health professionals to continue seeing patients at their homes providing much needed care as well as social contact to the most vulnerable in our community.

All of the charity’s services are free to patients and families however the hospice must independently raise just under £1.5million annually to fund them.
