Jackson Family Funeral Directors are proud to be supporting Dying Matters Awareness Week which runs from 10th to 16th May 2021, offering free reviews of funeral plans to help start the conversation around the taboo subject of end of life.
With the aim of opening up the conversation around death, dying and bereavement, Dying Matters Awareness Week helps to bring an important and difficult subject to the forefront, to further address the wishes of families in their darkest hour. This year Dying Matters Awareness Week focuses on the importance of being ‘in a good place to die’, where there has been a dramatic increase in people dying at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jonathan Branchett, General Manager at Jackson Family Funeral Directors explains, “Dying Matters Awareness Week has always been a focal point in the year at Jacksons but this year communities have been so effected by the pandemic. A sounding board is needed more than ever to discuss such a difficult subject, to help remove the stigma of discussing death.
Jonathan adds, “Our culture at Jackson Family Funeral Directors is always dedicated to supporting families in the community and one way we can start the conversation is by offering free reviews of funeral plans. Receiving caring and compassionate end of life care, through to funeral wishes and wellbeing support after the passing of a loved one, creates a supportive environment for grief moving forward”.
Dying Matters Awareness Week also coincides with Mental Health Awareness Week, another subject which is close to the hearts of Jackson Family Funeral Directors. By nurturing and facilitating this difficult subject, Jacksons aim to lead the funeral industry with open and honest discussions.
As one of the very few remaining independent and family-owned funeral directors in Worcestershire, multi-award winning Jacksons continue to campaign for change within the industry providing a bespoke modern approach with the philosophy always being ‘your funeral, your way’.
