Introducing Herefordshire Reuse and Recycling Organisation (HRRO)

Herefordshire Reuse and Recycling Organisation (HRRO) is a local charity working to reduce waste, support households in need, and keep reusable goods and materials in circulation across the county.

We joined the Herefordshire Chamber of Commerce with a clear purpose: to build stronger relationships with local businesses and develop practical, sustainability-focused partnerships that deliver real environmental and social value.

Every year, businesses and households dispose of good-quality furniture, equipment, and surplus products simply because they are no longer required. At the same time, many households in Herefordshire struggle to access essential items. HRRO bridges that gap by diverting reusable goods from landfill while supporting the local community.

Working with businesses enables us to:
• reduce waste and carbon impact,
• offer a responsible local alternative to disposal,
• support families facing financial pressure, and
• deliver measurable social and environmental outcomes.
How businesses can work with HRRO
We welcome engagement from Chamber members through:
• Corporate volunteering – HRRO can host structured volunteering days, with space for team activity and sustainability-focused projects.
• Surplus products and stock – end-of-line items, excess stock, returns, and usable materials can be redistributed or sold to support our charitable work.
• Furniture, white goods and equipment donations – office furniture and other reusable assets can often be rehomed locally.
• Sponsorship and partnerships – supporting specific activities, projects, or longer-term collaboration.

HRRO is professionally run, well-governed, and committed to being a reliable partner for businesses seeking local impact.
We look forward to connecting with Chamber members who want sustainability to translate into practical action.
