How can your leadership skills make a difference to people in Herefordshire?

As a local charity, Herefordshire Mind provide a range of services from Crisis Safe Haven services seven days a week to residential services and activities such as art and gardening groups. They also provide support across the county through their mental health link workers and community support teams. Every day we they making a difference to the people of Herefordshire.

Alicia Lawrence, Chief Executive of Herefordshire Mind, said:

Since April last year I have had an additional role with Healthwatch Herefordshire as a Non-Executive Director. Healthwatch is an independent statutory organisation that listens to the views and experiences of Herefordshire people. It has an important role to play in making sure local people have a say in how health and care services develop and holding health and social care services to account. As a local leader connected to local businesses, communities, and charities I am able to support Healthwatch to be effective in reaching more people in the county and amplifying the voice of those people we are already in contact with and most importantly those who are often not heard and experience inequalities.

Healthwatch have a unique position in the health and care system. it highlights if things are not as they should be for the public. Also, it positively influences change by working with and through local NHS, local Authority, and voluntary and community organisations. Healthwatch is currently seeking a new Non-Executive chair of the Board, to ensure that it is well run and meets its statutory duties. The skills required are excellent leadership skills, being experienced in managing an organisation and passionate about Herefordshire and making a difference for its people.

It would be fantastic to see a local leader and champion of Herefordshire take on this important voluntary role, which would require up to 8 days a year. If you are interested and want to find out more click here:
