High Sheriff of Worcestershire visits New College Worcester to explore student life

New College Worcester (NCW) is national residential school and college for young people aged 11 to 19 who are blind or visually impaired. NCW recently hosted the High Sheriff of Worcestershire, Charles Moyle, for an insightful visit to the campus. During his time at NCW, the High Sheriff met with Principal Rachel Perks and Chair of Governors Pat Dyson, gaining a firsthand understanding of the college’s exceptional work.

He toured the campus, engaging with students and staff, and was impressed by a musical performance that highlighted the creativity and talent of the student body. The High Sheriff also met with Rachel Willetts, Chief Operating Officer of Dolphin Tech, to learn about the valuable work experience placements offered to NCW students. These placements give students the opportunity to gain real-world experience in a supportive environment, preparing them for future success.

“We were delighted to host the High Sheriff and showcase the exceptional experiences our students have at NCW,” said Principal Rachel Perks. “His visit highlights the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and the local community in creating meaningful opportunities.”

Pat Dyson, Chair of Governors, added, “It was a privilege to share the diverse learning experiences that make NCW a thriving and supportive community. We are proud of the positive impact we have on our students and appreciate the ongoing support of our partners.”

This visit highlights NCW’s commitment to student growth, career opportunities, and engagement with the local community.
