Herefordshire County BID Launches Exciting New Projects to Support Businesses in 2024

Two new projects have been launched in the first week of 2024 by Herefordshire County BID, as they continue to take action to support businesses, reduce business costs and upskill staff across Herefordshire’s visitor economy.

The first is an innovative learning hub in partnership with SEEDL, that offers all employees that work in the Visitor Economy in Herefordshire, free unlimited access to up to 200 live courses at any given time. The second program supports our visitor economy businesses to reduce their operating costs, working with Place Support Partnership (PSP).

SEEDL’s innovative learning hub offers topics that help local employees learn new skills, help their employer’s performance, and ultimately make Herefordshire County more successful.

Employees can choose from a range of subjects including Retail and Hospitality Management, Customer Service and Sales right through to Microsoft Excel and Project Management. With so many types of businesses in our county, this is a great way for us to address learning needs of all our wonderful businesses. On completing a course, the employee can download a Herefordshire County BID completion of learning certificate, helping those staff evidence their personal development.

HCBID’s courses are uniquely all live interactive webinars, allowing local employees to make a date to learn on a flexible basis, accessing webinars from their home, office or any of BID’s many hospitality venues.

Herefordshire County BID’s learning solution is amongst the first of its kind around the UK and is launched in partnership with SEEDL, a world pioneering ‘Virtual Live Learning Subscription Service’.

Diane Mansell CEO of Herefordshire County BID said “Facilitating this accessible training, and improving the skills of employees free of charge to our businesses, is something we are incredibly proud of, but we also understand the importance of supporting businesses to reduce operational costs, which lead Herefordshire County BID to launching our second scheme, free cost savings advice and guidance ensuring businesses are receiving the best deals from their suppliers. Trusted cost saving experts have been enlisted by Herefordshire County BID to help reduce costs for local businesses.”

PSP has been appointed by the BID to deliver a programme aimed at reducing business operating costs during the current ‘cost of doing business’ crisis. The partnership offers cutting-edge expertise and resources, helping businesses to achieve their sustainability goals and thrive in today’s competitive market.  Enhancing the extensive support, the BID currently provides to businesses throughout the county, the partnership delivers additional comprehensive guidance spanning a variety of topics – including energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost reduction strategies. As a result of the risk-free arrangement, local business owners will have support to save money during a turbulent time.

HCBID run regular drop-in sessions for its businesses and will be inviting PSP’s Rishi Sood to join drop-in sessions in the following locations:

  • 23 Jan 2024 – The Royal Hotel, Ross-on-Wye – 9.30am- 4.30pm
  • 24 Jan 2024 – The Coffee House in the Feathers Hotel, Ledbury – 9.30am – 4.30pm

All businesses will need is a copy of their latest bill for the service they would like to discuss.

If our businesses would like to take advantage of either of these fantastic new opportunities, please contact Tara@herefordshirecountybid.co.uk or call on 07940 145 219.

Both of these programmes have been made possible due to funding secured by Herefordshire County BID via the UKSPF.
