Great connections thanks to the Chamber!

A connection made at last year’s Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Conference has led to a fantastic example of local businesses supporting their community.

After YMCA Worcestershire CEO, Dr Annette Daly, spoke at the conference, she connected with Gemma Hunt from NatWest Commercial Banking. What started as a conversation about community work and shared values soon developed into a meaningful partnership.

Earlier this year, colleagues from the NatWest Herefordshire & Worcestershire Commercial Banking team volunteered their time to support YMCA Worcestershire by helping redecorate part of the Willow Trees Community Centre in Church Hill, Redditch.

The team spent the day refreshing one of the centre’s corridors, helping to create a brighter and more welcoming space for the young people, families and community groups who use the centre every week.

YMCA Worcestershire provides vital support across the county, including accommodation for young people, youth services and community programmes. Community hubs like Willow Trees play an important role in bringing people together and providing safe, welcoming spaces.

Acts of corporate volunteering like this help ensure those spaces remain warm, welcoming and accessible to everyone who needs them.

YMCA Worcestershire would like to extend a huge thank you to the NatWest team for their generosity, energy and commitment to supporting the local community.

It’s a great example of how connections made through the Chamber of Commerce can turn conversations into real community impact.
