The Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) welcomes news that it will be able to continue delivering for the Worcestershire economy, following a recent Government announcement.
This announcement finally provides clarity to LEPs nationally, and the news is welcomed by the Worcestershire LEP and its dynamic board of partners consisting of the business community, higher and further education and local government. Given the support to date from local partners to the Worcestershire LEP, we look forward to continuing our delivery of the 20-year strategy for the county.
We will build on the exemplar delivery of the Worcestershire LEP to date, which has supported the growth of Worcestershire’s economy through funding of infrastructure projects such as Worcestershire Parkway Rail Station, dualling of Carrington Bridge, Kidderminster Rail Station improvements, and active travel improvements, including along the A38 in Bromsgrove.
Alongside this, the Worcestershire LEP has engaged with over 10,000 Worcestershire businesses, via the Worcestershire Growth Hub, to provide support and guidance to help those businesses grow. We have directly supported innovation through our national award-winning technology accelerator, BetaDen, attracting in excess of £6m investment. In addition, we are delivering in the top 3 nationally, for careers education provision, as recognised by the Careers & Enterprise Company, working with all schools across the county.
Building on these successes the Worcestershire LEP will now work closely with all partners to discuss the recent announcement to ensure continued delivery of the shared strategy and 2040 vision for Worcestershire.
