Graphic design students at Evesham College have been making their mark across the town by supporting local businesses.
Chantell Young-McClone and Ann-Marie White, who both live in the town, have been completing design projects – gaining vital experience for their future careers.
They both study HND Graphic Design with Photography at Evesham College.
Chantell, who is in her final year, has been working with Coffee #1 Market Place to design business cards for the popular coffee shop.
She visits the shop every day and was commissioned for the work after the manager spotted her working on designs.
Visitors to the town might have seen her blackboard designs on the street outside shops, all hand drawn by Chantell.
Chantell, who is planning to attend Hereford University for a top-up course after graduating from Evesham College, said: “I love Coffee #1, so when they asked me to do some designs for them, I was really excited!
“I drew up designs for a business card to sit on the counter at the shop.
“I’ve also designed logos for a boat repair company. They’ve gone down really well.
“When we got to level three, we were encouraged to do more personal promotion which has given me the confidence to get out there in the town.”
Coursemate Ann-Marie is only in her first year but has already been designing logos for local clubs and businesses.
After being encouraged to promote herself in the community, she has developed logos for yoga business Barefoot Yoga and a martial arts club.
Ann-Marie said: “I’m just getting started in my career and to have published work already is a great start.
“The plan is to work with more people in the town and continue to expand my portfolio.”
Tutor Helen Scott said: “It is brilliant to see our students making an impact out in the town. The college is at the heart of the community and our students are great ambassadors.
“We try to encourage our students to get out there and get their work seen. Chantell and Ann-Marie are just two of many examples from the last few years.”
