This year marks a special milestone for us at Creative Mouse – 25 years of design, collaboration, and creativity. Since opening our doors in 2000, we’ve come a long way, and we’re proud to celebrate the journey that brought us here.
Creative Mouse was founded by three designers and art directors; Bill, Rich, and Keith, who left the mail-order industry with a shared vision: to build a design studio rooted in experience, and fuelled by a genuine love for the industry. In those early days, we continued working with major retail names like Kays, Littlewoods, and Argos. But as new opportunities came along, the studio began to grow – and so did our ambitions.
Photography has been at the heart of Creative Mouse from day one. Our in-house studio, has always allowed us to combine design and photography across our projects. Colette, who’s been behind the lens since the beginning, has played a vital role in shaping our visual storytelling, capturing everything from product shots and portraits to full-scale campaigns with creativity and care.
As things got busier, our team expanded too, new designers joined to help keep up with demand. Including Steve and Rob, who came on board early and are still with us today, more than two decades later! Over the years, many talented people have been part of our journey. Some have moved on to new challenges, but many remain friends and collaborators, and we’re proud of the lasting connections.
Of course, the design landscape has changed dramatically over the past 25 years, and we’ve evolved alongside it. As the world moved from printed catalogues to digital platforms, we expanded our services to include branding, prospectuses, annual reports, exhibition graphics, social media design, and video production. While our tools and techniques have changed, our core values remain the same. To create impactful design, build meaningful relationships, and enjoy the process along the way.
Currently, Creative Mouse is proud to be a team of five; Bill and Colette, who’ve been here since day one. Rob and Steve, who joined not long after, and Heather, our latest member. Each of us brings something unique to the mix, and all share a love for good design and great company. We believe the best ideas happen when the process is as enjoyable as the outcome. As we celebrate our time in the studio – some longer than others – we’ve been reflecting on what gets us up in the morning and why we come in.
Looking to the future, we’re excited to build on our success, collaborate more with other creatives, and connect with new businesses and partners who share our passion for good design and meaningful storytelling. Here’s to the next 25 years of Creative Mouse.
