Create/Fuel is a one-day event, organised by Herefordshire’s a Great Place (Rural Media/Herefordshire Cultural Partnership) that will provide young people in Herefordshire with inspiration, practical advice and support on how to kick-start a career in the creative industries.
The event is designed for people aged 16-30, including students, those in the early stages of a creative career, and young people still undecided as to what their future might offer.
We’d like representatives from Herefordshire’s business, cultural and education communities to take part too and there will be opportunities on the day to hear what young people have to say about the county’s creative scene, and to take part in a networking activity where you can meet and authentically connect with people aged 16-30 – ideal if you’re interested in engaging with or recruiting younger volunteers, advisors or board members.
The ambition of Create/Fuel conference is for each young person who attends to leave with connections and ideas, and for business, cultural and education communities to get a better understanding and authentic connection to young people who are essential to the UK’s growing creative industries sector.
The event will start at 2.00pm and include young speakers, panel sessions and live performances. In the evening there will be a showcase of local food and music.
Create/Fuel is the second Pride of Place conference from Herefordshire’s a Great Place, co-funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund, Arts Council England & the Elmley Foundation. These annual conferences in Herefordshire bring national speakers and energised communities together to explore, challenge and revision thinking around rural culture.
