At their headquarters in Worcestershire, creative communications agency and Chamber Patron Members DRPG launched their CSR Charter in an event livestreamed out to clients, suppliers and the media where they explained their positive commitment to both the environment and the local community.
The Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce were invited to the launch of the Charter which was accompanied by the planting of 40 trees and the announcing of 40 CSR projects to be completed in 2020, this to celebrate DRPG’s 40-year anniversary.
The CSR Charter has been in development for the past 12 months and will be the guide for the next 10 years for their teams, clients, suppliers and the industry which highlights a commitment to their local community and to reducing their impact on the environment.
Dale Parmenter, CEO of DRPG, said: “In our 40th year we took the decision to completely review everything we do, the impacts we have both positive and negative, and understand where we could take our CSR programme. Over 12 months, we’ve reviewed and redesigned the way we do things – simplifying systems and creating new processes to help our global team continue to make a difference internally, and importantly, externally with our 1,200 plus projects we deliver each year for our clients, putting sustainability at the heart of our project management cycle.”
With a key spotlight on sustainability, the company have been working with partners EcoEvents for the past decade to develop and implement a framework for integrating sustainability practices into their daily operations.
The Charter also refers to the company’s goals of becoming a net zero carbon company by 2030, which is 20 years ahead of the UK government targets, and carbon negative by 2050.
There is also a focus on the next generation. Supporting education is a big passion for DRPG and one which is part of their history, with three of their board members who started as work experience placements.
The Group will continue to support projects such as The Prince’s Trust West Midlands, Birmingham Hippodrome Education Network and their very own careers programme DRPG Sparks.
The Charter commitments will enable DRPG to further improve and share learnings and work together to find solutions to the pressures that currently are facing the planet.
