The 2025 Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards marked a significant milestone in the county’s ongoing commitment to developing talent, celebrating success, and championing the value of apprenticeships. Now in its eleventh year, the programme continues to grow in strength and impact, with this year’s ceremony setting a new record for the number of finalists.
More than 320 representatives from employers, apprentices, schools, mentors, and training providers came together at West Midlands Safari Park for an evening dedicated to recognising ambition, achievement, and dedication across Worcestershire’s apprenticeship landscape. The event was expertly hosted by award-winning comedian and writer Shazia Mirza, whose energy and insight contributed to a memorable celebration.
This year, we were especially proud that our Chief Executive, Sharon Smith, sponsored the Small Apprenticeship Employer of the Year award. Sharon’s long-standing commitment to skills development, business growth, and supporting future talent made her involvement particularly meaningful.
Sharon shared her pride in supporting the event, emphasising the importance apprenticeships continue to play in strengthening Worcestershire’s workforce:
“Apprenticeships remain one of the most powerful pathways for individuals to gain new skills, grow in confidence, and build strong careers. It was a privilege to sponsor a category and celebrate so many inspiring achievements.”
The success of the event reflects the continued efforts of employers, training providers, and apprentices themselves. The enthusiasm surrounding apprenticeships has never been stronger, and the awards ceremony showcased the very best of the county’s talent and determination.
We extend our warmest congratulations to all finalists and winners. Your hard work, resilience, and dedication are helping shape the future of Worcestershire’s economy.
We are proud to support such an inspiring initiative and look forward to continuing our involvement in celebrating the outstanding contributions apprentices bring to local businesses and communities.
