Botanical Treasures Exhibition, Demonstrations, Talks

Visit the NEW Botanical Treasures exhibition, opening Thursday 27th May to 31st October, a collaboration between the Museum of Royal Worcester and the Gloucestershire Society for Botanical Illustration (GSBI), funded by the Finnis Scott Foundation Botanical Art Award.

The core of the exhibition will be works created by the GSBI’s talented members, several of whom are RHS medal winners, inspired by and displayed alongside the Museum’s beautiful collections of Botanical Art porcelain and original archives. There will be an accompanying programme of talks about the history of botanical arts, artist demonstrations and family activities.

The exhibition will also celebrate the life and legacy of a well-known local botanical art tutor, Stuart Lafford (1953-2016), who taught many of the GSBI, starting his career as an apprentice at Royal Worcester in 1972, working on limited editions.
