Rachael Jackson, owner of the Birmingham branch of WIBN (the Women in Business Network), has been crowned ‘Networker of the Year’ at the Business Success Network (BSN) Recognition Awards 2025.
The awards, held at a glittering black-tie ceremony on Saturday 13th September at The Crowne Plaza in Stratford Upon Avon, brought together business leaders from across the UK to celebrate collaboration, innovation, and community. With more than 500 nominations received across 17 categories, competition was fierce — but Rachael’s outstanding contribution to building networks and championing women in business set her apart.
Stacey Calder, Founder of the Business Success Network, said:
“The BSN Awards are all about recognising the incredible achievements of UK SMEs and giving them the platform they deserve. Rachael is a shining example of what networking is truly about – creating meaningful, lasting relationships that empower others. Her authenticity, drive, and commitment to her members embody the collaborative spirit of the BSN Awards.”
A Journey Defined by Connection and Resilience
Rachael’s path to success has been shaped by her neurodiversity and lived experiences. Growing up in the 1980s with undiagnosed dyslexia, school was far from easy. But through developing strong listening skills and emotional intelligence — qualities she now calls her “superpowers” — she built a successful 22-year career in retail and shopping centre management, leading teams of up to 500 people at major names like Debenhams, Meadowhall, and Merry Hill.
When she launched her WIBN franchise in 2024, Rachael brought the same no-nonsense, down-to-earth approach that defines her northern roots. Starting with a single group in Knowle, Solihull, she has since expanded to multiple groups across the region, including Redditch and Edgbaston and with further launches planned in Sutton Coldfield and Tamworth.
Speaking about her award win, Rachael said:
“Networking, for me, isn’t about quick wins — it’s about building real relationships. I believe you have to put in before you can take out. My dyslexia has taught me to listen deeply, remember what matters to people, and create spaces where women feel seen and heard. This award is not just for me, but for all the incredible women who turn up, support one another, and grow together.”
Giving Back to Community
Beyond WIBN, Rachael is committed to empowering the next generation and giving back to her community. She volunteers as a Brownie leader, works with local schools to inspire sixth-form students, and offers free charity seats in each of her WIBN groups. Her long-term vision includes championing dyslexia charities and running fundraising initiatives alongside her business.
As Rachael looks to the future, she remains focused on her mission: boosting confidence in women and creating supportive, collaborative spaces where businesses — and people — can thrive.
