Ballards accelerates corporate finance growth with senior Transaction Advisory appointment

Ballards, one of the Midlands most forward-looking business advisory and consultancy groups, has further strengthened its corporate finance service with the appointment of Rob Burns as Transaction Advisory Services Director, further expanding its Birmingham team and presence.

This follows the recent appointment of Rich Grover, Corporate Finance Partner and their expansion into the business district of Colmore Row in Birmingham.

Rob joins Ballards with nearly 20 years` experience in providing financial due diligence and acquisition advisory services, supporting corporate acquirers and private equity backed businesses pursuing fast-paced buy-and-build strategies. His appointment enhances Ballards’ ability to advise on complex transactions in buoyant sectors where consolidation and strategic acquisition are prevalent, including health and social care, education, and the children’s day nursery sector.

Commenting on his appointment, Rob said:

“I am delighted to join Ballards. The firm’s recent growth has been impressive, and I am excited to help grow the Transaction Advisory Services offering across the Midlands and beyond. I look forward to supporting corporate acquirers and private equity backed clients with their buy-and-build strategies.”

Rob will focus on expanding Ballards’ Transaction Advisory Services, helping clients navigate the complexities of acquisitions with a collaborative approach and sector specific expertise, ensuring robust due diligence and informed decision making throughout the process.

James Syree, Partner and CEO of Ballards, said:

“We are thrilled to welcome Rob. His deep transaction advisory expertise and sector knowledge strengthen our corporate finance offering and align perfectly with our ambitious growth plans.”

Ballards has grown from a local Worcestershire accountancy practice to a 150-strong advisory group across Birmingham and the West Midlands. Known for its independence and entrepreneurial culture, the firm helps clients not just with compliance, but with strategic growth, transformation, and value creation.

The expansion of Transaction Advisory Services is part of Ballards wider strategy to become a leading force in mid-market deals, supporting acquisitions, disposals, and succession planning across the region and beyond.
