AI Expert has launched in Worcestershire to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) adopt artificial intelligence (AI) without wasting money on unproven technology.
Created in response to growing demand from SMEs seeking clarity on how to integrate AI into their operations, AI Expert offers a unique proposition for the UK’s SME market: independent, business-first guidance on AI adoption. Unlike technology vendors, AI Expert isn’t tied to software sales. Instead, the team focuses on identifying where AI can deliver measurable commercial outcomes and where it won’t.
‘Most SMEs know AI they could save them time and money but they don’t know what’s real when it comes to AI, nor how to start,” says founder Christian Collison. “We created AI Expert to give straight answers, build practical roadmaps and make AI work in the real business world and not just in theory.”
The launch comes as 45% of UK SMEs have already adopted at least one AI tool and 74% plan to integrate AI into their operations by the end of 2025, according to national data. Yet more than half of UK SMEs cite lack of expertise and 1/3 worry about compliance risks – challenges AI Expert directly addresses.
AI Expert’s services follow a structured five-stage process tailored to SMEs beginning with a free AI Readiness Assessment, scoring how prepared a business is for AI. This feeds into a collaborative AI Workshop to identify opportunities and align leadership. From there, insights are turned into an AI Roadmap detailing costs, timelines and ROI, before moving into hands-on implementation and ongoing optimisation and compliance support.
Collison, who previously scaled digital strategies for global brands and founded digital agency Nifty Communications, says AI Expert’s role is part translator, part strategist: “We’ve sat where SME leaders sit, juggling P&L pressures, tight margins and team capacity. Now we want to show SMEs exactly where AI can make an immediate impact and where it can’t.”
