AJB Sports in Education, who are a local Worcester based sports education company who work with and deliver Primary School Physical Education and holiday camps were, like many other companies left with a dilemma when Covid19 first hit. As schools, holiday camps and all their revenue avenues were indefinitely closed, they were left with a choice: close their doors and give up or evolve and create something new.
“We have always felt that sport can teach much more than the technical and tactical aspects of the games, it can help to enhance pupil confidence, resilience, and personal growth. Lessons learned in sport can be lifelong lessons. When Covid19 hit us hard it actually opened a door of time for us that allowed us to work on a long-standing idea that we had: Can we use sport and games to teach children all about health and education”
Active Minds is a Physically active learning program focused on three key areas of a child’s development: Mental Health and Building Emotional Resilience, Diabetes Awareness and Nutrition and Healthy Eating. The program has been designed to help meet Ofsted Personal Development and Welfare Guidance targets.
Using our many years of experience of working in schools and teaching young children, and in partnership with leading professionals in various fields including mental well-being consultants and a national Diabetes charity, we have produced a ground-breaking collection of programmes that we feel will better prepare the next generation to live long, healthy, happy and active lives.
The program has been designed with the deliverer in mind. It is a programme that can be delivered by any educator in any educational setting. You don’t need any background in sports coaching or health and education – we provide everything for you: online portal with resources, lesson plans, worksheets, pre lesson guidance videos along with a Data analysis tool to help present data to Ofsted and other governing bodies.
AJB Sports in Education are proud to have worked for the past 20 months creating, designing, trialing and preparing Active Minds to be released and are excited to finally get started.
