A growing need among local businesses for smaller, more frequent deliveries to their customers has led to a rise in demand for groupage services, according to the boss of local transport firm ABE Ledbury.
Managing Director Clive Brooks said more businesses were approaching ABE for a solution which helps them avoid the cost of a full load delivery service.
ABE’s groupage offering, which provides companies with a shared user transport solution, is becoming increasingly popular because of its convenience and cost-efficiency.
Clive said, “local businesses may not be aware of groupage as a service offering and the financial advantages it brings and are unnecessarily paying to send freight on dedicated vehicle. There are not many transport companies in Herefordshire that offer groupage. They’re either full-load carriers or part of a network.”
As a member of the Palletline network, ABE are also able to offer that network solutions too, for customers looking to transport a smaller number of pallets, but groupage is ideal for customers who don’t have a large enough shipment to warrant the cost of a dedicated vehicle but need to move more than a handful of pallets.
Clive said: “It’s especially popular in uncertain climates where companies are looking at cost-efficiencies and a great way for transport companies such as ABE Ledbury to help customers get their products to market in the quickest, most efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst at the same time enabling them to meet market demands.”
