Herefordshire photographer, Paul Ligas Photography, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for a photography exhibition “People of the Hop Harvest”.
A series of photographs taken at Townend Hop Farm, near Bosbury, Herefordshire over the course of a year showing the people from the UK, Poland and Romania who help plant, tend and harvest the hops that make our beer.
Paul Ligas, owner of Paul Ligas Photography, said: “Through this exhibition I hope to increase public understanding of the importance of seasonal workers to farming – people who make growing and harvesting much of our food and drink possible.
“With the UK leaving the EU and some uncertainty about work permits for EU members, I hope to positively raise awareness of the importance of seasonal workers from the EU to the UK’s farming and food industry.”
The plan is to exhibit in Hereford and in Ledbury, with additional locations under investigation.
