Christmas trees will be collected and recycled to help a local charity.

Startin Renault Worcester’s commercial department will be loaning two Renault Vans to St. Richard’s Hospice in conjunction with Nation Wide Building Society Worcester to assist in the annual Christmas Tree Collection Fundraiser.

David Tyler of Startin Renault said “It’s an absolute delight to be able to assist Jayne Sargeant and the wider fundraising team of St. Richard’s Hospice Worcester with a couple of our commercial vans. As a local family run business Startin group is more than aware of the good work the hospice does and are always more than happy to help when we can, I’ll certainly be donating our Startin Group car Showroom Trees to the cause.”

The recycling initiative takes place on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 January 2020; Startin Group is one of an army of over 37 local businesses are now involved

The campaign is now in its fourth year.

Those wishing to take part register their tree online and make a donation to the hospice by Tuesday 7th January; supporters can also opt to gift aid their donation. This year collections will take place in 13 postcodes throughout Worcestershire on Friday 10th January.

Last year more than £16,000 was raised by supporters and 1187 trees collected and chipped.

Jayne Sargeant, Fundraiser at St Richard’s Hospice said : “We are delighted and grateful to David  from Startin Commercials for his vans. Our Christmas tree campaign has been hugely popular with our supporters and is growing each year. Over the last three years, more than £34,555 has been raised towards our free specialist care, which is incredible.”
