OLPRO’s autumn charity fundraising

OLPRO is once again collaborating with homeless charity Caring For Communities and People (CCP) this autumn/winter to help them to keep rough sleepers warm in the night shelters that they run across Worcestershire in the West Midlands. You can read more about CCP and the work that they do by clicking here.

Last winter, the company donated hundreds of sleeping bags to CCP and other homeless organisations, this year it wants to do the same again.

You can help by purchasing a sleeping bag at cost price, and OLPRO will do the rest – just £11.00 to help CCP keep rough sleepers warm this winter. Your donation will include a sleeping bag and a pack of wash mitts and be donated directly to CCP who will ensure that they are distributed and used where needed most.

Further to the bag donation, for every sleeping bag sold, £1.00 will be given to Maggs Day Centre that is fundraising to create a new day centre in Malvern following the death of two local homeless men and the need for improved homelessness services in the area.

OLPRO’s MD (and local Councillor), Daniel Walton, is also taking part in a walk alongside a fellow Councillor to raise funds for this day centre, which you can find out more about by clicking here.

Figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that around 726 homeless people died in England and Wales in 2018. This is a 22% rise from 2017 and the biggest increase since 2013 when such records began to be recorded. Without a doubt, homelessness is on the increase and could easily happen to any one of us.

This season, please help to help homelessness by:

  • Purchasing a sleeping bag (or more!) for donation
  • Publicising our campaign via your press or online channels
  • Donating to the fundraiser to improve homeless provision
  • Tell your friends and colleagues to get involved too
  • Forward this email to anyone you can think of who would like to help

Together, we can make a difference.
