Funding available for rural community energy projects

Worcestershire communities are being made aware of new funding available through the Rural Community Energy Fund.

The Rural Community Energy Fund (RCEF) is a £10 million programme which supports rural communities in England to develop renewable energy projects, which provide economic and social benefits to the community. Communities with an energy related project idea are encouraged to apply to receive part of the national fund.

The RCEF is being run by 5 regional Local Energy hubs and Nottingham City Council is administering the fund through the Midlands Energy Hub.

RCEF Funding is available in 2 stages:

  • stage 1: grants of up to £40,000 for a feasibility study for a renewable energy project
  • stage 2: grants of up to £100,000 for business development and planning of feasible schemes

To register your interest for the scheme, or for further information, contact the Worcestershire Energy Hub Officer, Alex Pearson, by emailing: [email protected].
