There are still some free tickets left for a talk at The Hive this week by one of the nation’s leading experts on poverty and its causes.
The talk, on Wednesday 15 July, by author Joanna Mack, has been brought forward from its initial start time to ensure that attendees can get to a television in time to watch England v Argentina in the semi-finals of the football World Cup.
Joanna will be giving her talk at The Hive after she praised the landmark building in her latest book, Impoverished: How to Fix Britain’s Poverty Problem. In it, she said it was an example of how shared public facilities can make a real difference to people’s lives.
Opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2012, The Hive is the UK’s first fully integrated public and university library, shared between the University of Worcester and Worcestershire County Council.
The event, which was due to run from 6.30-8pm, will now begin at the revised time of 6pm, and will finish at 7.30pm, so attendees wishing to watch the football won’t miss out.
Tickets are free but must be booked in advance. Book your place by visiting The Hive website.
