Reflections on Neurodiversity Celebration Week: neuroinclusion works best when it is designed into everyday systems rather than bolted on for specific individuals.

To mark Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2026, the ‘Implementing Neuroinclusive Practices in the Workplace’ panel brought together passionate voices from across business, including Hereford and Worcester Chamber of Commerce members Holly Bolt of Nurturingnd and Jonathan Downes of Glassfull.

Huge thanks also go to David Swallow from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and Helena Darby from Worcester-based NeuroCompass for sharing their insights and experiences. Cath Darwen, from the Inclusive Worcestershire Leaders programme, did an outstanding job hosting the event.

Each panellist, speaking from personal and professional experience, came back to the same practical advice:
• have genuine, regular conversations with your people;
• make reasonable adjustments portable and personal, not tick-box;
• use the free tools and accessibility settings already built into your technology;
• and create an environment where disclosure is safe but never required.

The strongest thread was that none of this requires large budgets. It requires curiosity, kindness and a willingness to treat every person as an individual.

With over 300 sign-ups representing over 160 organisations from 21 countries, the conversation clearly resonated across borders and industries, highlighting that neuroinclusion is a global priority.
