It’s your last chance to see a powerful exhibition telling moving stories of rescue from the Holocaust at The Hive in Worcester before it moves on.
Between Life and Death: Stories of Rescue During the Holocaust, presents stories of rescue in fourteen European countries, giving voice to both rescuers and survivors, highlighting their courage, resilience, and will to live.
Since it launched at the beginning of the month, it has been having a big impact on people coming to see it.
Stephanie Jones, Manager of the Hive Library, said “We’ve been very privileged to host such a powerful exhibition. So many people have engaged with it over the month that it has been here, and it has been wonderful to see people of all ages and backgrounds exploring the displays.
“I’ve barely walked past the display and seen it empty, and visitors to The Hive have spoken to us about how moving and impactful they’ve found it, which just goes to show the value and relevance to our community.”
The exhibition, sponsored by the University of Worcester and Worcestershire County Council, was unveiled by representatives of the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity, the organisation behind the event.
Professor David Green CBE DL, Vice Chancellor of the University of Worcester, spoke at the launch of the exhibition about the importance of combatting racism and antisemitism wherever it is found.
He said: “The University is proud to be co-sponsors of this exhibition at The Hive. I am delighted to hear reports from the team at the library about how much of an impact it has been having on visitors coming especially to see it, and also those using The Hive who have seen it and explored this vitally important part of our history.”
“To host one of only two versions of this exhibit has been an absolute privilege,” Professor Green added. “The other version is currently on display at the United Nations in New York, and this is only the second time it has been on display in the UK.”
The free exhibit will be in the atrium of The Hive until February 28. Once it departs Worcester, it’ll move on to Redditch Library.
