This December, WMRSASC is inviting local businesses to support the Purple Leaf Project – Tree of Hope at Worcester Cathedral. Each hand-painted purple leaf represents solidarity, strength, and a message of hope for survivors of sexual violence — and every donation helps fund vital early intervention and specialist support for children and young people.
From 4 December to 6 January, Worcester Cathedral will host a stunning Tree of Hope, decorated with hand-painted purple leaves carrying messages of support and solidarity for survivors of sexual violence. Leaves are already being created by survivors, supporters, community members, and local leaders — including Worcestershire’s High Sheriff, Police & Crime Commissioner John Campion, and MP Ellie Chowns.
Why this campaign matters
Funds raised through the Purple Leaf Project support Purple Pathways — WMRSASC’s early intervention, specialist counselling, and family support programme for children and young people affected by sexual abuse.
National evidence shows that early specialist support leads to:
✔ Improved emotional wellbeing
✔ Better coping and communication skills
✔ Stronger long-term resilience
✔ Reduced risk of ongoing or escalating harm
But demand is rising. Many families are left without funded support — and this campaign helps fill that critical gap.
There are lots of meaningful ways workplaces can get involved:
- Donate during Big Give Week (2–9 Dec) — all gifts are doubled
- Sponsor leaves to display on the Tree of Hope
- Decorate leaves as a team wellbeing activity
- Join the Lost Leaf Challenge
- Visit the Tree of Hope at Worcester Cathedral
Every leaf tells a story. Every message helps hope grow.
