Worcester Law Graduate Becomes Partner Just Four Years After Graduation

After fulfilling her long-held dream of a career in law, a solicitor and University of Worcester graduate has been made partner at a law firm – just four years after graduating.

Esme House reached this milestone with Worcestershire-based QualitySolicitors Parkinson Wright and she now uses her legal skills to help victims of domestic abuse.

“I am overjoyed,” said the 27-year-old, from Worcester. “This is something I have aimed for since joining the firm, and it has been a real privilege to be made partner.”

Esme is in the family law department at QualitySolicitors Parkinson Wright, working in domestic abuse and on both public and private law cases. She qualified as a solicitor in May 2024.

She follows in the footsteps of two other Worcester graduates who were made partners last year by the same firm.

“It’s not necessarily an easy career to have, but that makes it all the more special,” Esme said. “The law is ever-changing, so while it is challenging, you will never have the same day twice. You can always continue to develop your knowledge; there are endless opportunities to learn.”

Esme is keen to remain working in family law. “I’m passionate about the area of law I work within. It is an area of law where you are able to see the difference you make in people’s lives and that is something I have always aimed for with a career. I am looking forward to continuing my work at the firm and ensuring that we remain working closely with domestic abuse organisations to enable victims of domestic abuse to have access to the support and protection they need.”

Esme was a key player in setting up an event in 2023 that brought together the team at QualitySolicitors Parkinson Wright, domestic abuse professionals and local businesses, and was designed to share information and signpost support on domestic abuse.

Esme began her journey into law at the University of Worcester where, after speaking to the Law team, she was convinced it was the course for her. She went on to achieve First-Class Honours.

“I wouldn’t be here today without the University of Worcester,” she said. “My experience at the University helped shape the solicitor I am today”.

She added: “The support I received throughout my studies at the University of Worcester was invaluable. The lecturers were engaging and would always be available to offer you one-to-one support. There was a good mix of theory and practice in classes, and there were also many extra-curricular opportunities offered which complemented your learning and provided insight into potential careers”.
