The Worcestershire Community Foundation is looking for two new trustees to join the Board. We are one of the leading grant makers in Worcestershire; we act as a conduit to local philanthropy, linking private and public funders with community projects across the county. We are an accredited member of UKCF, a national association that promotes and supports 47 Community Foundations across the UK.
Whilst we have grown and developed our work significantly over the past 5 years, this is a pivotal time for WCF to move forward, dynamically building new philanthropic partnerships and funds so that we have the capacity and resource to support local needs sustainably into the future. As a relatively small organisation with limited staff capacity, we rely on the guidance and expertise of a team of strong, engaged and committed Trustees.
Our aims are simple; to work with more people and organisations who can give their support to an increasing number of projects and community groups. We wish to be a significant part of Worcestershire’s response to emerging challenges while also supporting programmes and sustainable, proactive initiatives with longer-term impacts.
We are currently working from a new three-year strategy, and as part of our growth and development goals, we are looking to recruit at least two new Trustees to join our Board of nine individuals.
We are interested in applicants from all backgrounds and walks of life; you could be an established or retired businessperson with a wide current knowledge of Worcestershire’s corporate sector, or someone much earlier on in their career who wishes to give some of their time to helping others. We welcome individuals from the private and public sector; those who have had previous experience in the charitable sector, but also those who have had none. The only requirement is that we want people who have a passion for their county, their community, and for helping others. We welcome applications from people of all ages, and any location within Worcestershire.
We need trustees who will contribute in their own way to the overall governance and strategy of the Foundation, and who will use their networks (within whatever sector or age group) to help promote the Foundation to increase its profile and sustainability.
We are proud to have a group of dedicated and skilled local trustees who are passionate about our work to alleviate hardship in Worcestershire; if you are interested in having an initial chat with us about WCF and how you could become
part of the team, our Chair Jonathan Chenevix-Trench would be happy to have an informal conversation with you.
Please either contact Lucy Wells, Director, to set up a call, or send your CV and covering letter to [email protected] or via the attached link, telling us why you believe you would be interested and excited to contribute to the work of WCF.
The deadline to apply is Friday 4th July, with in-person interviews to be held in mid-July. www.worcscf.org.uk
