In 2022 we were thrilled to receive this unique opportunity to host the world’s first ABI Games in celebration of the Queens Platinum Jubilee. This was made possible through a grant from the Lottery Community Fund. This unique event enabled adults nationally to take part in the world’s only games for acquired brain injury (ABI). Unless a brain injury causes a physical impairment, those with a brain injury are not eligible to compete in the Paralympics and instead, are eligible for the Olympics.
We continue to provide this amazing opportunity for the ABI community, however, we will be raising our own funds, as the Lottery funding has now run out, which is why we need your help!
The next ABI Games will be held on the 20th August 2025, at the prestigious Worcester Arena. Below is a link showcasing the last ABI Games, which gives a real flavour of what the day is all about.
We are now looking for forward-thinking businesses that would like to give back to their community and get involved by becoming an ABI Games 2025 sponsor. The activities encompass a diverse range of Physical Games: boccia, bowls, walking tennis, rugby and football plus seated, table and walking cricket. The Life Skills category will see entries for; growing the tallest sunflower, wonky fruit or veg, baking a cake, scones, loaf of bread or jar of preserve. The Creative Expression category will showcase remarkable entries in pottery, photography, woodwork, drawing or painting, creative writing and crafts. The fourth category of Cognitive Skills challenges prowess in; scrabble, dominoes, chess, Uno, a memory game and Sjoelbak: a Dutch shuffleboard game.
We are pleased to have secured funding for the Main Sponsor, Woodwork & Sjoelbak, but don’t worry, there are plenty more categories waiting for you!
In return for your support, we will be offering a range of fantastic packages, to include; social media advertising of your business, advertising in our ABI Games brochure & on the day itself, opportunities for your branding in the Arena on the day and to judge categories, inclusion in the ceremony awards, game naming rights and much more!
