Throughout the academic year, HoW College has actively engaged with a diverse range of local businesses, fostering invaluable partnerships that have enriched both student learning and staff expertise. These collaborations have not only introduced new skills and innovative ideas but also created numerous opportunities and inspired young minds.
Employers have contributed to the College’s educational mission in various impactful ways. They have been instrumental in designing and delivering curriculum content, supporting assessments, arranging site tours, and offering vital industry placements.
Noteworthy examples of this year’s successful partnerships include:
Engineering and Manufacturing: Students visited MKL for an insightful site tour, gaining first-hand experience of industry operations.
Catering: Jamie May from The Butchers Tap provided a live demonstration, offering students a practical glimpse into the culinary arts.
Engineering Apprenticeships: Lesk Engineering’s commitment to nurturing talent was evident when they took on one of our female engineering students as an apprentice following her impressive performance during a work experience placement.

These encounters have also proven beneficial for employers who have been able to spot their next employee, been able to shape college curriculum to meet their future needs, and as a way of developing their own staff who have benefitted from engaging in college activities.”
