Herefordshire furniture maker ijlbrown acquired financial support to improve efficiency in the on-site workshop with a new Speed Sander. This funding was provided for through the Business Growth Programme, hosted by the European Union Regional Development Fund and Birmingham City Council.
The new sander machine is much more efficient and has allowed the team to reduce the number of processes and processing time in production. The machine is much wider, meaning that the team can sand an entire tabletop through in one go, rather than putting the tabletop through in two halves. The sander also offers the function of sanding veneered tops, which the team was not able to do previously.
Through the access of this alternative funding, ijlbrown can expand their business exponentially.
