The Power of Connectivity

For the exhibitors and visitors to the October 2021 expo it was a sense of getting back to normal after lockdown. But for two new members in particular the Expo event has resulted in a very inspiring connection. Sarah Cripps, Managing Director of Salad Skills, explains.

“I’d just joined the Chamber having relocated to Monmouth and was looking forward to meeting people face to face for the first time in 18 months. As I was leaving I hesitated at going to the food hall because I was still wary of Covid but I did and the last stand had these amazing scotch eggs made by Rhian of Veg Life. After tasting, founder and innovator, Rhian, revealed they were 100% plant based”.

Rhian and Sarah got chatting and Rhian agreed to be interviewed for a podcast episode of Sarah’s newly-launched podcast, the Big Balance Theory. The podcast came about following research during lockdown, when Sarah recognised that though her business, Salad Skills, which specialises in apprenticeship recruitment, had been impacted, she and others were experiencing a new kind of balance from the chaos.

Rhian’s story is inspirational. At just 27, she had to leave a job she loved in Dubai, packed up her bags with her independence and moved back home and in with her parents in Malvern; jobless and purposeless. It wasn’t long before this natural entrepreneur had devised a business idea, based on her love of food and put together her business plan. Her business, Veg Life, was also launched in the height of lockdown and continues to grow.

A great example of the power of connection and membership benefits. To listen to the podcast episodes and others, please visit – https://linktr.ee/bigbalancetheory
