After not having a full-time job for 20 years, Kidderminster man Neil* was feeling downtrodden and lacked purpose in his life. He wanted to work in an office but was not comfortable using a computer and had fallen out of a routine because he was out of work for so long.
Lisa, Neil’s dedicated Job Coach at Seetec Pluss, recognised he would need small, real steps to improve his confidence and prospects. Setting Neil simple tasks such as logging onto his laptop at the same time every morning and working his way around the Participant Portal, helped him to establish a routine and become more comfortable on a computer.
To further support Neil on his journey, he has also completed skills workshops and is now volunteering two days a week in the office for a local charity. This is helping Neil to gain valuable experience and skills which will look great on his CV and job applications and has also improved his confidence and sense of purpose.
Ashley, Team Leader at Seetec Pluss, has been super amazed at the progress Neil has made: “When I saw Neil following his confidence workshop, I didn’t recognise him. He looked very well, and he spoke so positively. The little things Lisa has put in place has already made a huge difference to Neil’s life. I am very confident he will soon be back into work.”
