Dreams come true for four friends shortlisted for Chamber award

Four friends and colleagues who set up an innovative new business are celebrating, following the announcement that their company has been shortlisted in the ‘Most Promising New Business’ category in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Awards. The awards category recognises the best new businesses from across the two counties with entrants needing to demonstrate sustainable growth that is exceptional for the size of the business during its first 3 years.

Apogee Associates Limited was set up during lockdown by Nathaniel and Josh Mortazavi, Jack Morgan and Ben Hewitt. Apogee’s services have been particularly welcome during the pandemic since the team has helped businesses of varying sizes and from all sectors to recover funds from HMRC. In order to qualify for R&D tax credits, a company must have developed new or improved products, processes or services. Detailing this information to HMRC in a manner that is easy and quick for a business, whilst ensuring they are recovering everything that is available to them, is Apogee’s specialism.

Apogee differentiate themselves in the R&D sector through their exceptional customer service and innovative approach to applications. To date, the team have achieved a 100% success rate across over 500 applications without receiving so much as a query from HMRC. In some cases they have uplifted applications compiled by other R&D providers by over 400%.

Apogee’s Managing Director, Nathaniel Mortazavi, says ‘We’re absolutely over the moon to be shortlisted for this award. Starting a company in the middle of a lockdown certainly had its challenges, but thanks to the incredible support of our clients and partners we’re building Apogee into the first-in-class, sustainable R&D tax credit provider we always dreamed of being.’
