Situated in central Mozambique on the east coast of Africa is a wonderful 250 square kilometre natural forest called Catapu.
Sustainably managed by a dedicated team who collect the fallen or dead trees that have been lying on the forest floor for many years. The heartwood, the amazingly hard central core of the trunk, survives as the softer surrounding tissue is removed naturally over many years by the weather and insects.
Using this timber, we create a range of beautiful furniture and home decor products that are imported into the UK. The range is unique, the end product is dependent on what is found in the forest, so every piece is a one of a kind.
SickleBush started with a desire to showcase and share these African timber products with the UK market.
