Alfaplas Ltd, part of the SPhere Group, acquired 100% of the share capital of Sarpak Ltd in March 2021.
Alfaplas employs 95 people at their Hereford site situated in Rotherwas, where they produce a variety of Flexible packaging solutions made from PP, PE, recycled, along with Compostable films and paper.
Sarpak, based in Port Talbot, Wales employs 53 people. They extrude, convert and recycle PE and compostable films with a production capacity of 7000 tonnes. All of the Company’s staff have been kept on and will continue to operate from its existing site.
Alfaplas recently gained media attention thanks to its increasing use of starch-based bio-plastics. Malcolm Atkinson, Managing Director at Alfaplas said: “Alfaplas and Sarpak have held a strong partnership for 20 years and the integration allows the business to expand into new markets, offering more sustainable options in order to fully meet the expectations of consumers and local authorities”.
