HCR soar up M&A deal league table

Client demand for mergers and acquisitions took law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys to second place nationally across the UK for the number of deals it completed during the first quarter of this year, taking top spot in Wales, third place in London and first in the South West, according to Experian’s first quarter M&A report for the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Working together with clients and with colleagues across the firm, to respond to pent-up demand in the market, HCR’s corporate teams also made second place in the East of England and in the South East, fourth in the Midlands and went into the top ten in the North West.

Martyn Davies, corporate partner in Cardiff, said: “To come in the top spot the first time you enter the list is something of a surprise – a very pleasant one, of course! We may only have had an office here for just over a year, but we have worked with Welsh businesses for some time. There is plenty of demand in the market right now, as businesses gear up to leave lockdown restrictions behind and invest in their futures. I’m delighted that we’re playing our part in keeping businesses growing and developing.”

Experian ranks deals by volume and by value – all deals included are worth £500,000 or more. You can see the full report here.
