From the 12th to the 16th October, The Worcestershire LEP ran its new Virtual Conference programme.

The Virtual Conference covered 5 key business challenges and interests broken down into a topic each day. The themes for each day were Skills and employment, infrastructure developments both digital and physical, what the Future Economy will look like, Healthy Worcestershire and how businesses have coped with the past few months and finally, a detailed review of the One Worcestershire approach.

Starting off the programme each day was the Espresso Update. A morning update covering the key background information on the topic of that day with a sneak preview of the special episode each day. This lead into the Feature Special each day at lunchtime.

With over a thousand views in total, the lunchtime feature specials allowed viewers to hear from a plethora of guests from both the public and private sector to emphasize the work the WLEP and partners have achieved, what benefits this will bring and what the future ambitions are. In these sessions, viewers were able to answer polls and leave their own questions for the WLEP to answer.

All the feature episodes have since been made available on demand to allow any interested parties to hear more on the themes for each of the 5 days.

Gary Woodman, Chief Executive of the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “The Virtual Conference was a tremendous achievement for us at the Worcestershire LEP. Being able to bring business concerns and issues to the forefront and discuss what we are doing to combat these concerns was great and the feedback thus far has been extremely positive.

“I hope that the discussions proved to be engaging for our viewers and we have collected lots of valuable information through our polls and questions which will help us going forward to make sure we are addressing the challenges businesses face.  I encourage those who were unable to join us for the feature specials each day to visit our website where they can access the feature specials..”

All the morning Espresso updates are also now available on the Worcestershire LEP website and YouTube Channel for viewers to watch again.
