St Michael’s Offer Virtual Grief Counselling Support

Grief can be incredibly painful when we suffer a loss. This is a normal response but at times in can be really helpful to talk to someone independent to make sense of those feelings of loss.

St Michael’s Community Counselling Team:

St Michaels can provide support to any adult (18+) living in Herefordshire who has suffered a loss associated with Covid 19. The vast majority of our counselling sessions are by telephone or virtually (video call), but there are exceptions where we can safely offer face to face sessions (following government guidance re PPE).
All our bereavement services are provided free of charge but donations are always welcome.
Who Can Refer?

Anyone who lives within, or is registered with a GP in Herefordshire can refer themselves, or ask their GP or any other health professional to refer them to the service. Please note we are not an emergency service and anyone who is in crisis should either call Samaritans (Tel. 116 123) or the Crisis Resolution Team Tel 01905 681915 (24 hours)

What Happens When I’m Referred?
We will contact you to arrange an initial telephone assessment by one of our Counsellors that takes up to 45 minutes. If we can help you, then you can be offered up 14 sessions with one of our Community Counsellors.

Telephone Support:
You can receive telephone support from our Counsellors which can be arranged to suit your needs.

Virtual Counselling:
This takes place via Zoom and is a secure network. Your counsellor will go through this with you to explain how to use it safely.

One to one support:
This is personal support where you meet with one of our Counsellors, depending on your individual needs and circumstances (within Covid 19 guidance.)
