With Less than 100 days to go until the transition period ends, businesses should be preparing themselves for all eventualities and the overnight changes that will occur on January 1. The Chamber are running a number of virtual training programmes, in association with Strong and Herd (International trade services experts) to help businesses prepare, below is a list of useful courses that businesses will find useful.

This topical session reviews where the UK and EU are today as we plan for the exit from the Transitional Arrangement at the end of 2020. The UK will become a 3rd country to the EU27 members on the 1st January 2021 and customs entry declarations and export and import paperwork will be required whether there is a deal or not. UK government has announced a staged approach to the introduction of full regulations for goods coming from the EU into the UK but the EU will not be doing the same.

This interactive session covers key points relating to customs declarations with emphasis on controlling movements to and from the EU27 once the UK leaves the Transitional Period. The session is an entry level overview ideal for anyone that hasn’t been involved with customs regulations relating to exporting and importing outside the EU but also works as a refresher of current knowledge. In 2 hours learn the key points of what export customs entries are, the key pieces of information needed and how customs export entries are made in the UK. Though this session will not cover each box by box entry field delegates will feel more comfortable reading the export entries and understanding what information is needed by freight companies. An important session in light of the UK leaving the Transitional arrangement with the EU at the end of 2020.
