A cap badge is the most significant and most obviously visible item with regard to the identity of any uniformed regiment or organisation.
As such, all badges contain unique symbols and details that depict – in metal a visual – present or historical aspects and ultimately the values of that organisation; especially as some regiments stretch back many centuries .
Selcraft UK have both replicated existing badges and undertaken special commissions for nearly 5 decades, whether our client is local, national or global.
We produce our cap badges via the die-stamping process (as is the same for metal currency and military medals) which is recognised as providing the ultimate in fine detailing and manufacturing quality.
Cap badges are available on the open market, produced in iron or cast in brass and zinc-alloy; often purchased when low cost is required without consideration or evaluation of technical specification, value and longevity.
Director, Carl Huxley, comments: “Businesses that promote price beating and lowest cost often do a disservice to our industry as the only loser in our experience is the end-user who ends up with a cheap badge with little quality or durability that will soon require replacement.”
The die-stamped process used by Selcraft allows Carl and his team to offer numerous permutations with regards the appearance of a cap badge that can be produced in self-colour, non-ferrous metals (as per UK MOD in nickel silver, brass, copper etc) and also with numerous electroplating effects and stove enamelled finishes. Some of the badge designs reproduced demand the item be made in several pieces, suiting the die-stamping process perfectly, where precision and alignment are an absolute necessity.
Whether the badge is old, new, simple or complicated then Selcraft is capable of designing, producing or replicating any cap badge that will be invested with the highest quality of materials and manufacturing techniques.
