28 of the county’s best apprentices, apprenticeship employers, careers leads, schools and training providers were celebrated in front of 320 people at Treetops Pavilion, West Midlands Safari Park on Thursday 14 November.
The event ended with the announcement of the winners of the two overall awards. Phosters (FM) Ltd were named as the Worcestershire Apprenticeship Employer of the Year, sponsored by Yamazaki Mazak, and Thomas Smith from DRPG won the Worcestershire Apprentice of the Year award, sponsored by Southco Manufacturing.
Gary Woodman, Chief Executive of Worcester Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “Its always such a pleasure to be a part of the Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards.
“It is an opportunity to recognise the achievements of employers, training providers and participants such working together to inspire the future workforce in the country.”
Included within the 12 categories was Small Apprenticeship Employer of the Year which Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce proudly sponsored, this was awarded to Give as you Live, which provides an easy way to raise funds for charity just by shopping online.
