The Community Housing Group (TCHG) has achieved double success at the 2015 Worcestershire Apprentice Awards that were held at Tree Tops Pavilion, West Midlands Safari Park in Kidderminster.
The Group celebrated after receiving the award for ‘Large Apprenticeship Employer of the Year’ and then went through to also take the overall award for ‘Worcestershire Apprentice Employer of the Year’ as well.
During the night employee, Kathleen Sandford, who is West Midlands Intermediate Apprentice of the Year, presented the award for ‘Traineeship of the Year’ which was sponsored by Vestia Community Trust.
The event was hosted by well-known presenter, Steph McGovern and there were 13 awards available including: Worcestershire Apprentice of the year; Newcomer Apprenticeship Employer and Higher Level Apprentice of the year. The evening, now in its second year, celebrated the successes of some of the county’s best apprentices, employers, training providers and schools.
Marina Banner, Executive Director of Vestia Community Trust and TCHG Corporate Services, commented: “Thanks go to everyone in the Group and Vestia for the commitment that has made us leaders in the field. It’s all about the work that everyone in the Group has done together to get us to this position.
“The citation for the overall Employer Award was particularly gratifying as it spoke about the winner needing to not only demonstrate that they were committed to Apprenticeships, but that they were embedded in the organisation. “
The Community Housing Group’s apprentice programme is managed by Vestia Training and has been built into the Groups recruitment policy. This has resulted in Apprentices being part of a strategic approach to growing the business and developing the skills and workforce for the future.
