Three businesses have benefited from bespoke training through the Chamber’s Business Training Department during February 2017.
Employees from Tyrrells enjoyed the “Train the Trainer” course, delivered by Jon Williams, which helps managers develop effective training and coaching techniques to improve the skills and ability of those around them. Employees found learning about how to deal with different personality types and ways of learning particularly insightful, and enjoyed the interactive elements of the course. One delegate commented: “If only all courses were like this!”
Staff from McConnel, a world leading supplier of power arm technology, benefited from the “Introduction to Microsoft Excel Course”, delivered by John Legge. Amcor, a global leader in responsible global packaging solutions, also benefited from Chamber Business Training through the “Assertiveness & Confidence at Work” course, delivered by Jon Williams. Eight out of nine staff said they would definitely be able to apply what they learnt to the workplace.
Suzi Boddy, Training Coordinator at Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, said:
“I thoroughly enjoy organising bespoke training courses as we really get involved in the businesses and can tailor the courses to suit their needs.
There are a few companies locally who begin to wonder if we are employees as we spend so much time there when working on certain training projects. We also do one off training with teams at companies who can then top up the training of any new staff by attending the public courses here at the Chamber.”
