Royal visit for Foster and Freeman

foster+freeman, forensic science equipment manufacturer, was last Friday delighted to welcome Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal to its Evesham, Worcestershire, headquarters. foster+freeman was selected for the Royal visit, primarily because of its role as a manufacturer of unique and innovative technologies within the field of forensic science and questioned document examination. The company’s position as a local employer of young graduates and skilled apprentices was also highlighted during the visit.

Robert Dartnell – Chief Executive, foster+freeman, stated: “It has been an absolute pleasure to welcome Her Royal Highness Princess Anne to our R&D and manufacturing facility today and to explain how, for over 40-years, foster+freeman has contributed to the forensic investigation of crime worldwide. We are a unique company, not just locally but internationally, and it was with great pride that we were able to introduce our people and products to The Princess Royal.”

A guided tour of the company’s Vale Park facility introduced Her Royal Highness to a number of foster+freeman employees from across the business and included hands-on demonstrations of some of the very latest forensic science technology including, the Crime-lite range of forensic light sources and crime scene imaging solutions, VSC document examination instruments, and several soon to be released products in the final stages of development.

As Royal Patron of WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) and a strong proponent of promoting youth in STEM education, The Princess Royal took a keen interest in the people behind the products.

Rachael Brewster – Fingerprint Product Delivery Manager, commented: “ahead of today’s visit no one was quite sure what to expect but [The Princess Royal] immediately put us at ease, demonstrating a genuine interest not only in the technology but also in the part we all play in turning new product concepts into reality, asking astute questions throughout.”

Based in Evesham, with sales offices in the US, Germany, and the Netherlands, foster+freeman are industry leaders in the design and manufacture of forensic science equipment used by police and military investigators worldwide.
